Roll up, roll up, Twins Club is once again open for business (and cups of caffeine) on Monday 5th September. We hope to see you there still wearing your summer-holiday smiles. 🙂
We are closed for the summer holidays, but will be back in September 2016. Enjoy the break!
There will be a hairdresser at Club on Monday 25th April. Please use the sign-up sheet on Club days to make an appointment for one, both or all of your little ones. Haircuts will be £5 (unless particularly thick/unruly hair). And remember to note if it is a first haircut for any of your kids – they’ll get a certificate and you can get a lock of their hair to keep.
Snip, snip, snip
Twins Club will be back from the Easter break on Monday 11th April. We look forward to seeing you there.
Twins Club is on a break Monday 15th February – see you on the 22nd!
What’s on in February? Only parents’ night out! Technically it’s our Christmas drinks, but don’t let the lack of twinkling lights stop you. We all know multiples parents get things done eventually. Drinks are planned for Saturday 27th February, in a fine Greenwich establishment and your first drink is free! See the Facebook group’s event page for details – and remember to RSVP! See you there.
It’s (nearly) the most wonderful time of the year…
We have a busy month ahead and we hope you can make it along to the events we have planned.
On Monday 1st December the portrait photographer will be at our playgroup. This is the opportunity to have portraits taken of your twins. These make excellent Christmas presents for family members. We also usually create a composite of each set of multiples which will also be available to purchase with the profits going back into the Club.
On Thursday 11th December we are having our Christmas Mums’ Night Out. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you there. Details are yet to be finalised, but we are in the process of booking Luciano’s in Lee for drinks and nibbles.
And last, but certainly not least, on Monday 15th December we have our Twins Club Plus Christmas Party!
Tickets cost £5 per family and can be purchased with cash from Monday playgroup, or by bank transfer to
Greenwich & Lewisham Twins Club Plus
Please write XMAS[TWINSNAMES] as a reference and also email email@example.com stating that you have paid and again including your twins’ names.
Tickets paid for via bank transfer can be picked up at Monday playgroup or on the day. Tickets must be purchased by Friday 12th December. Tickets bought after this date will gain you entry to the party but do not guarantee a present from Father Christmas.
We have listened to feedback from mums and are looking to make our twins club as accessible as possible for everyone. To that end, the way we run our weekly playgroup is changing.
From Monday 13th October we will be running the group differently in order to allow the toddlers to do more age-appropriate activities, the parents of small babies to have the chance to chill out and chat in a calm and quiet environment and for all parents to still have the opportunity to talk to each other regardless of their children’s ages.
We will be running a TODDLER playgroup from 10-12. The format will be very similar as it has always been with free-play, snack and singing, but we will also be joined by a volunteer, Oscar, who will be providing a range of craft activities for the children to enjoy.
We will be running a BABY playgroup from 11-1. This area will still be “fenced off” from the toddlers as previously, but from 12-1 the toddlers will go home, meaning there will be a calmer and quieter environment for the babies and parents will not need to feel pressured to rush a baby’s feed in order to leave by 12.
These playgroups obviously overlap by 1 hour, allowing for parents of older children to offer support and friendship to those with newer babies.
The idea is to make the playgroup more accessible, not less, so of course flexibility is allowed – particularly for those with toddler twins and a baby or vice versa.
We really look forward to seeing you on Monday and really hope that you and your children enjoy the new arrangements.
Today we are heading for Greenwich Fire Station to meet some firefighters and see the fire engines. The hose will create some lovely puddles for jumping in, so make sure you have appropriate footwear!
We are meeting at the fire station at 11am. 4 Blisset Street, SE10 8UP. Afterwards we will head to Greenwich Park for a picnic.
Tomorrow night (Tuesday 5th August) is Mums’ Night Out (Dads are more than welcome too!). We are meeting at the Princess of Wales pub, Montpelier Row, Blackheath at 8pm. We hope to see you there for a few child-free hours’ chat!
Monday 18th August we are relaxing on Blackheath Beach. Meet at the Blackheath Conservatoire, Lee Road SE3 9RQ from 10am-12pm. We are suggesting a £5 donation per family.
There is a visit to Greenwich Fire Station planned for Monday 4th August. Subject to confirmation (check this page), we should be meeting there at 10:30am. All are welcome!
